Our Story

John and Willie started American Farrier in the middle 1990’s as they were looking for quality products to use in their own practice.   As time went on AFS designed their first trailer and refined the design by trial and error, always looking to exact the perfect balance of work efficiency and travel safety.   Over the years AFS offered truck bodies, and then the Tonneau and industry first.   In 2015 the Supply Store was sold and the business focused solely on building accessories, Tonneau’s and trailers.   This lead to the introduction of the Kodiak line of Tonneau’s and trailers.   In the early 2000’s Jon Jr. joined the company and at that time they began to automate and computerize the designs and drawings.   All of our accessories are built using the latest CAD software insuring the best fit and finish in the industry.   In 2023 John and Willie decided they were ready to hang up their spurs and do a little fishing.   Heiser Industries Corporation another Georgia based manufacturer saw the potential in what AFS had built and had the need for an industry best trailer for one of their other business.   A deal was struck and Heiser Industries took over, both John and Willie have agreed to stay on as Brand Ambassadors, and attend events and shows with Mr. Heiser.    Mr. Heiser promises to never forget our roots and where we came from; we are and will remain a family business.  We will remain dedicated to our craft and heritage while we bring modern production experience to AFS.
